Building a breakout study journal that survives review

A useful breakout journal captures the decision process, not only the outcome candle. At minimum record the range definition, the breakout claim, the participation note, the planned invalidation, and whether a retest was required before you would call the move validated.

Date the entry when you made the call, not when you looked back. Retrospective journals quietly edit away hesitation. Classroom students at Intelli Software Co timestamp screenshots and write the checklist score before discussing the next bar.

Once a week, sort entries by ‘validated then failed’ and ‘rejected then continued’. Those two buckets teach more than a pile of winners. Patterns in language — vague words like ‘strong’ or ‘obvious’ — usually show up there first.

Keep the template short enough that you will actually fill it. Five fields completed beat fifteen fields abandoned.
